Climate Change: Impacts, Solutions, and Youth Engagement
Description: This program explores the multifaceted dimensions of climate change, delving into its far-reaching impacts on both the environment and human societies. Through interdisciplinary perspectives (i.e. from air, water, biology, etc), students will learn about the diverse biological and ecological consequences of climate change, as well as its profound effects on human life and communities worldwide. The program will analyze various solutions and strategies aimed at mitigating and adapting to climate change, including the adoption of green development models and the implementation of circular economy principles. Additionally, students will explore the crucial roles of regional and global cooperation in addressing climate challenges effectively. Moreover, special emphasis will be placed on the pivotal role of youth in driving positive change, both in preventing further climate disruption and in responding to its existing impacts. Through case studies, discussions, and collaborative projects, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of climate change and develop the skills necessary to actively engage in climate action.
OUTCOME AND OBJECTIVES
Outcome: By the end of this program, students will have a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted aspects of climate change, including its impact on the environment and human life, potential solutions, the principles of green development and circular economy, the significance of regional and global cooperation, and the role of youth in addressing climate change.
Objectives: Upon completion of this program, students are expected to achieve the following learning objectives:
- Analyze the diverse impacts of climate change on the environment, biodiversity, and human societies from multiple perspectives.
- Evaluate various solutions and approaches to mitigate and adapt to climate change, including the implementation of green development models and circular economy principles.
- Assess the importance of regional and global cooperation in addressing climate challenges and promoting sustainable development.
- Recognize the crucial role of youth in advocating for climate action and develop strategies to actively engage in initiatives aimed at preventing and responding to climate change.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills through discussions, case studies, and mini projects

Program fee is waived. The Program fee include:
Shared-room accommodation
Meals during the program
Airport transfers
Domestic transportation
Site visit
Cultural and Sport Exchange activities
The participants are required to cover the following expenses:
Air tickets to HCMC, Vietnam
International Health Insurance
Personal expenses not covered by the program
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Students who are interested in the program shall contact their home university’s Office of International Relations for instruction on program registration.
The home university sends the Nomination Form along with all supporting documents of the nominated students to VNUHCM before the deadline specified by VNUHCM. (Each AUN member university nominate up to 02 qualified students. Selection criteria will be determined by the home university, following general guidelines set by AUN)
VNUHCM confirms with home university the list of students accepted to the program.
Home University notifies students the final result.
